Are all young earth creationists ignorant of science?

i often hear the word "theory" used out of context. i have yet to meet a young earth creationist who can state accurately what the theory of evolution does explain and what evidence supports the theory of evolution. i frequently find that young earth creationists mix up the theory of evolution with cosmology. and i have yet to find a young earth creationist explain how telecommunication satellites work if radiometric dating doesn't work. so are all young earth creationists scientifically illiterate? are they all ignorant of science?
