Why don't they make true classic movies anymore?

I agree. Some of the ones you listed weren't seen as classics of the time, ill-received by the public, even such a movie I loved as a child, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, failed at the box-office upon its release. however, over time, that changed. there are a whole heap of movies made since 2000 that have been well-received, eg: city of god, mystic river, million dollar baby, match point, revolutionary road, the French film The Next Three Days was made after- with Diane Kruger, Ju-On, pan's labyrinth, gran torino, milk, audition, precious, the last samurai, the fighter, toy story 3, Volver, the sea inside, talk to her, the secret in their eyes, to name some, whereby you don't know how they'll stand the test of time. I mean, that's what makes a classic a true classic.
