Whats the diffrents between ninjas and samurai?

This may be a retarded question but I want to now the diffrents.between samurai and ninja the only diffrents that I can think of is that samurais wear armors but to me the are very similar they both carry swords around and stuff. can anyone please tell me the diffrents.
