Sims 3 quakes at 12am almost all the time? Why does this happen!?

Okay, I get these (earth)quakes type thing at 12am almost every night in Sims 3, along with my daily Karma boost. I don't know why I'm getting them and how to stop them. The quakes completely shake up my Sims and make them scared. Also destroys my house. ( breaks the sink, toilet, computer, Tv, etc.. ) Causing for a repair. Does anyone know how i could stop the daily quakes, and what is causing them?
